Myontec MBody: The First Smart Shorts on the Market

It is no wonder that in the world where the majority of young people never separate from their smartphones, mobile apps and technological innovations cooperate to provide athletes with infinite performance-support possibilities. Wearable devices, which together with specially-designed applications, track, monitor and measure our bodily parameters are all the rage right now. And for a good reason – they offer plenty of information that helps professional and amateur athletes to boost their performance and follow their progress.

An example of such a device are Myontec’s MBody tech shorts. Those who want something more than a simple activity tracker should consider investing in this piece of high tech. Myontec is recognized for MBody Pro, a line of wearables designed for professional athletes that monitor all the essential metrics which are related to particular sports. Their smart shorts include integrated textile sensors whose job is to monitor four major muscle groups (the quadriceps and hamstrings in both legs). They’re made of a special, UV-resistant elastic fabric that prevents fatigue by offering compression for muscle support and guarantees comfort thanks to the featured flat seam construction.

Myontec’s MBody tech shorts

What do Myontec MBody shorts do? They monitor muscle balance (left/right and front/back), load, and ratio, as well as heart rate and cadence. All this data is fed to a special app, which users need to download on their mobile devices. The app then calculates the number of burned calories, together with the user’s speed and route – helping them to analyze their workout and improve it. The shorts offer real-time sports performance statistics that are relevant to any kind of sport.

Apart from muscle overload analysis, the smart wearable offers a range of training readiness options that are based on warm-up monitoring, sophisticated fatigue monitoring functionalities from the attached EMG, recovery & relaxation monitoring, technique feedback that aims to boost individual efficiency and balance, as well as a wide scope of analyses that help to prevent imbalance and injury.

What do athletes gain with MBody shorts? MBody tech gear collects and analyzes data in the training environment – and that’s a new way to monitor muscular performance. Feedback from the device shows what exactly is happening with muscles during training, how they behave under different conditions, and where the majority of muscle injuries occur.

Myontec’s MBody tech shorts

All that real-time and post exercise analysis helps users to measure and analyze their performance with technique optimization in mind. Users can also gain a better control over the recovery process and detect problems in the muscular system (for instance, imbalances or deviations) before they begin to affect their performance.

Myontec sensor technology offers a complete performance analysis that brings plenty of value to training and coaching. The associated app allows users to see figures from past sessions and check their progress. They also gain access to the cloud-based Movescount service, where they can create training programs, maintain a training diary, and connect with other members of the MBody community.

While there are many wearables in 2017 that you should look forward to, if you are a sport-enthusiast, investing in Myontec MBody shorts may be the smartest move. Spoil yourself with this piece of super-luxurious yet super-practical equipment. The complete MBody setup is available now for €820 (about US$920).

Echo Show from Amazon: Your Gateway to Smarter Living

Anyone interested in making their home smarter will be setting their eyes now on the brand new Echo technology from Amazon called Show.

This sleek and elegant device was designed to bring all the best of Amazon’s Alexa together with a screen where users can access a host of convenient features. With the Echo Show, you’ll be able to stream photos and videos, make video calls, keep track of your to-do list, or even monitor the safety of your home.

By integrating the Echo Show with your home, you’ll build a smart home experience where you can fully control features such as light, thermostat, and security. The device includes powerful, Bluetooth-enabled speakers with Dolby processing that guarantee top quality sound, helping users to enjoy music streamed directly from Amazon, Pandora, Spotify, and other platforms.

But Echo Show also responds to spoken commands. Features such as noise cancellation, beam-forming technology, and a total of 8 microphones make it incredibly efficient in hearing sounds coming from all directions, even with music playing in the background. As you add features ranging from new apps and recipes to Uber drive orders, the device will continue to get even smarter.

Here are a couple of things you should know about Amazon’s Echo Show before deciding whether it’s something for you.

Single-user system

Amazon is faithful to its single-user system for Echo devices, and while Show has many improved functionalities (think taking calls or managing calendars), it still doesn’t allow users to connect with other Echo Shows or speakers.

But you can add multiple users to a single Echo, so when you receive a call through Alexa, all your devices will ring.

Alexa skills

Even if the seven-inch touchscreen makes the Echo Show look like a tablet, the device is far from it. It was built to run Alexa skills, so it’s impossible to install either Amazon’s own Fire OS apps or any products from the Google Play Store.

What about services like Netflix or Hulu? They might build skills to work with the device in the future, but don’t count on binging on your favorite shows right now.

Communication

The Echo Show can carry out voice calls and direct messages between other Echo devices and the Alexa app. The device is equipped with an extra feature called Drop In that allows users to list individuals who will be able to start a video chat on the Echo Show unannounced.

If someone Drops In on you, they’ll be presented with a “frosted-glass” view for 10 seconds before the video chat starts. That’s when you can reject the video or switch to an audio-only mode. Be careful gentlemen, don’t put just anyone on that list or you might regret it.

Available in sleek black or white design, the device is a great accessory to adorn your countertop. With the smart technology on the rise, there appear newer and newer devices that make your home smart. If you’re looking for an extraordinary, luxurious solution that combines speech recognition with innovative communication features, the Echo Show is a device for you.

The Echo Show ships from June 28 at the cost of $229.99.

The Luxurious New High-Tech LL2 Lounger

The Ehang 184: A Drone That Flies You

Ehang has created the 184 AAV, a drone that is unlike any other.  The company has shown us many unique drone designs throughout the years, but this drone is entirely different or it may be more accurate to say the complete opposite of all of them.  The drone allows you to sit inside itself as it gives you a ride through the sky in comfort and the best part is you don’t even have to operate it because the drone will fly itself.  So just put your feet up and enjoy the ride.

Ehang CEO Huazhi Hu started the idea of a one-passenger electric drone a couple of years ago, which was just after two of his pilot friends were killed in plane crashes.  So Mr. Hu decided that people should have a form of short-to-medium distance personal air transport that would not require the passenger to have a pilot’s license, this took a lot of danger out of low-altitude flying.

The 184 was created so a person could easily get in, power up the drone, select their desired destination using a 12 inch touchscreen tablet, press “take off”, and then let the drone’s automated flight systems take over.  The drone’s automated flight system can handle tasks like communication with air traffic control and any additional aircraft’s in the area, obstacles in the drone’s path, and navigation, the Ehang 184 AAV will always take you on the fastest and safest route, all you need to do is enjoy the view til you reach your destination.

The 184 features carbon fiber or an epoxy composite body, an aerial aluminium alloy frame, and eight motors giving out 142 hp/106 kw to eight propellers.  The eight propellers are divided into groups of two, each pair being situated at the top and bottom of one of four arms.  Each arm can fold up when the drone lands on the ground, which makes the drone take up less space.  It will take four hours to charge the drone’s 14.4 kWh battery pack in trickle mode or only two hours in fast charge mode, with a full charge the drone can keep one passenger airborne for up to 23 minutes at sea level.  The drone weighs 44o lb, can carry up to 264 lb, has a top speed of 62 mph and can reach an altitude of 11,480 ft.

Unique features of the Ehang include trunk space to store things like a briefcase or backpack.  In addition, this drone also features full interior and exterior lighting, 4G internet connection, air conditioning, and gull-wing doors.  A “Failsafe System” will take over if ever any malfunctions occur, not to mention passengers can stop the drone and hover in place if need be.  The drone was named 184 because there’s “one passenger, eight propellers and four arms.”  Prices for the Ehang 184 AAV start at $200,000.

The SkyRunner MK 3.2

For many years people have dreamed of creating a flying car, well today those dreams have finally come true.  Created by Los Angeles based SKYRUNNER, the vehicle has been awarded the S-LSA classification by the American Federal Aviation Administration designating it a legally recognized light aircraft.

The SkyRunner MK 3.2 has the appearance that of a go-kart, but don’t let that fool you for this one of a kind car is something out of the future.  With the ability to reach an altitude of 10,000 feet while maintaining a speed of 45mph or (72km/h).  The exoskeleton is created out of exposed tubular steel with carbon fiber and aircraft grade aluminium panels.  The car’s most noticeable feature is its large rear-mounted propeller.

Attaining full certification, the SkyRunner has been undergoing development and testing for several years, winning many fans in the process.  Dan Johnson, President of the Light Aircraft Manufacturing Association, called the vehicle: “A full-on macho pulse-pounder that catches the interest of people.” And thanks to it being  fully certified, full-on production can be launched and a backlog of existing orders can be cleared. “This airworthiness certification is monumental, as it now triggers serial production, creates jobs, and makes for happy customers,” said Daryl Ballard, SkyRunner Shop Foreman.

The Maneuverability of the car in the air is pretty straightforward: Toggle left or right to steer or drop or raise the accelerator pedal to ascend or descend. “This is one of the most significant milestones in our company’s history,” said Stewart Hamel, SkyRunner’s CEO and Founder.  A SkyRunner retails for approximately $119,000, but there is a lot of optional extras, from carbon fiber racing seats ($1,899) all the way to a set of augmented reality driving and flight goggles that offer a head up display and facial protection ($750).  Anyone that lives in areas that suffer extremes of weather, the car can also be specified with pro caterpillar tracks for an extra $5,200.  This new multi terrain vehicle shows us that you don’t have to be “James Bond” to fly something as extraordinary as this.

Airbus Showcases The First Ever 3-D Printed Motorbike

The Motorbike was nicknamed “Light Rider”, for its hollow-looking frame that reduces the overall weight and allows for a powerful 6 kilowatt engine.  Airbus has applied the the same fundamentals on aircraft’s, in fact Airbus introduced a 3-D printed twin-engined prototype at Berlins Air Show in early June.  Joachim Zettler, Chief Executive of APWorks, said 3-D printing had made it possible to produce the bikes hollow-looking frame.  “The complex and branched hollow structure couldn’t have been produced using conventional production technologies such as milling or welding,” he said.  Prices will start at 50,000 euros.
